Wayforward has announced plans to re-release the original GBC Shantae on 3DS Virtual Console in “the tail end of June.” You might need a break from Animal Crossing by then…!

I never got to play this. Like everyone else, I was all about Castlevania and Super Dodge Ball on GBA when Capcom put this out on Game Boy Color. Totally looking forward to this opportunity!
